The Buffalo Bayou is the main waterway flowing through Houston. It begins on the west side of the city and flows east to the Houston Ship Channel. Several big and small parks dot the banks on either side. The bayou is spring fed. The Barker Reservoir regulates the Bayou’s flow. At the beginning of the Barker Dam is the Terry Hershey Park, which has jogging, biking and fishing are popular in the area.
